Cuban Missile Crisis: When the USSR and the United States got into a conflict because of the USSR sending nuclear missiles to Cuba, and the nuclear missiles were not shipped, but the United States did not invade Cuba either, that was the compromise.

Deng Xiaoping: Became the leader of China from 1976-1997, who tried to revive the state, but ended up destroying the communist state economy of China.
